Police, immigration agents and other law enforcement officers detained 12 persons and closed one massage parlor during a weekend sweep of San José establishments.

This is part of a continuing effort by police and code enforcement officers to put pressure on the sexually-oriented businesses.

Immigration agents detained six women and four men for being in the country illegally. Two persons were detained because they had outstanding warrants, including one to face an allegation of sexual abuse of minors, said the Fuerza Pública. Agents also cited 35 persons to show they are in the country legally.

The Fuerza Pública said that one massage parlor was closed because agents discovered sexual activity taking place there.

Not all MP's are structured as you describe. I believe many are licensed as massage parlors and therefore sexual activity would not be part of allowed activities. Very similar to the situation in most U.S. cities.

As in the U.S. they operate with the knowledge of the activities taking place until the politicians or law enforcement want to get some press and put on and "dog & pony" show.

Not all MP's are structured as you describe. I believe many are licensed as massage parlors and therefore sexual activity would not be part of allowed activities. Very similar to the situation in most U.S. cities.

and so do these writers who report on these on-line rags...they use terms like raid, crackdown, attack etc when the immigration may have been doing simply what they do. check Id's

There also may have been sexual activity but may have had no bearing on why the place was closed..

IE...don't believe word for word what you read....especially here in CR and the USA....the dog and pony show is also in the news
