Platinum Pricing

Guys,

I was at Platinum last week and was told that the in-room pricing has increased?

Usually, i go for the 45min package and pay 60 door and $100 bs + $20 tip. ($180 total) Last week, I was told everything went up. I paid the same this time, but she said next time it would be $140 ($200 Total).

Anyone experience the same thing? Wow, this is not a cheap hobby!

If this is the case, I may be forced to go elsewhere or stop.

Same thing happened to me recently. This would make it the most expensive spa in the city. If this is going to be standard pricing then I'll stop visiting this spa. There are better alternatives for better pricing elsewhere.

Too bad because I always liked this spa and would have recommended it to anyone. I'm going to wait for more confirmations before I make my final decision however.

I just read in another thread that you get one free (door fee) after five paid. Maybe this is how they cover the cost of the 'free' one.

Considering that a "top" 40 minute session is $125 @ A & R ($45 + $80) or $150 @ SRM ($50 + $100) I'm not sure who's going to pay $200 for 45 minutes.

I love Athena to death.... but.... well.... $200 is a lot of money right ????

Nope. Do the math. The top-end rate at most spas is about $170 all-in for 45 minutes (right where Platinum was priced before).

6 sessions at a regular spa = 6 x 170 = $1020
5 sessions at $200 + 1 session at $140 (free door fee) = $1140.
It's still $120 (or $20/session) more expensive then the top-end spas pricing. Platinum is good but it's not the best so I can't justify that kind of money going forward.

I was compiling a TDL for my first trip down to Platinum, but with those kinds of prices, I might just hold back.

BTW, with the rate increase, what is the total price of a 30 minute BS session ?

THEY DID RAISE THE PRICES !!! Damn I was there today, and the mpa did say they raised the in room prices, but Tia wasn't around so I could ask to confirm.

I think I have to boycott Plat now.

I paid $150 for half hour BS, 50 door fee+ 100 Slide, it was $140.00 about a month ago.

Didn't someone mention the Licence fee was going up? Maybe that's why they are raising them. Or maybe it's because they can. They will charge what the market will bear.

Yeah, license fees doubled but the room rates stayed the same so it really has no bearing on raising the "In Room" fees which go directly to the ladies.

I believe that they are trying to go the way of the market as SRM did earlier on but at least they cut us a break on the 40 minute session and made it comparable to Allure.

What Platinum is doing is making their 30 minute comparable only if you go with 6 sessions and take advantage of the VIP program otherwise if you do not get the 6th session free then you are paying $10 too much for the door fee.

Anything over 30 minutes and you are getting ripped off across the board in regards to a price comparison. I doubt that any of these ladies do anything lower than a BS, that is if they do its not worth the session.

By making the 30 minute session more attractive the have a higher turnover of clients within each shift.

Therefore, the ladies have in effect decided to raise their rates with the consent of the owner, who has kept room fees the same. I have a feeling that they will feel the fallout from this but only time will tell.

As for me, I am not too happy with the idea but as a consumer I can always take my business elsewhere.

My one continual criticism of the MP business since starting the hobby is this:

They're used to clients coming in throwing cash at them, but forget WE are paying with "after tax" dollars.

What seems like $20 here and there adds up, especially as the price increase is NOT "evenly distributed" across their client base as they'd like to think.

In most businesses 80% of the revenue comes from 20% of the clients, so the guy coming in to see "MPA X" once a week is actually getting hit with a $20 x 4 = $80 per month increase.

When you start to look at things THAT way, the hobby gets very expensive very quickly.

In this particular case we can't blame Platinum itself, but I suspect the MP will feel the fallout over the next month.

That's not to say ALL MPA's aren't sensitive about finances. I've had MPA's hand back $20 occasionally saying they appreciated my regular business and tips weren't required.

Interesting point, while I don't frequent Platinum there are a number of spas that I attend with regular frequency. And you're right that its hurting the regulars which is where the bulk of most MPs business comes from. And the problem with say bonus cards is that who wants to be caught with one of those? I'm single and I still wouldn't want one of those cards.

Who wants to pay more than you're used to...no-one.
However, for those of us who have been going to IT,HFH, Allure for the past 5 years, we've been paying the MPAs 100 for a half hour BS. I don't think the MPAs cost of living has gone down by 20%, probably quite the opposite.
While we all have to deal with inflation - gas, food, housing, other important (necessary) things in life, I am not surprised that the MPAs want to make what other ladies have been earning for the past 5 years.
If you are going 3+ times a month, then $20-$50 more a month should not be too painful to swallow.

I agree of course there's inflation and yes everyone would like to make top dollar but not everyone can charge or get top dollar. Even though people are predicting that business will be affected I think Platinum will carry on maybe for a short period they will lose some business but soon enough there will be a pool of guys who are used to the new prices or not aware of the old prices.

Isn't that the same going rate as IT and HFH? Ok the room fee is higher. I decided to give this place a try yesterday and tipped my MPA the same way as I did at IT and HFH (and SRM) and she was content.

To look at it another way, the tips for MPA have been the same for years and I am pretty sure inflation have gone up over the years as well. IMO a little price adjustment is OK, at the end of the day this is not a cheap hobby

your right....i've always gotten the 1hr BS so it's just 20 dollars more....not really a big deal but if they are going to charge the same amount of money as SRM i want the same level of service.....

If you go to the butcher store and you are deciding between T-bones and tenderloin and you decide T-bone because its cheaper but the same quality than your deluding yourself. Now if you decide on Tenderloin but have to choose either the less expensive Cdn AAA and the Angus than I'd call it a wash on going with the cheaper. What does this have to do with Platinum's rates...nothing, I'm just trying to justify my shoppings habits today.

I think that they aren't out of line at all. Sure I don't have 30 girls to choose from like in brampton but these 12 or so women are specimens. As are those of HFH and Allure. I think their rates are the same. If not my bad. Plus they are led by the second sexiest MP owner in the land after Paul. I would give my left anything to...nevermind. While Paul, I say he would be more of a PSE type. All glitz and glam. Whoa how did this get off track.

The rates are fine considering its within reasonable driving distance from anywhere in TO. And its nothing but a veritable museum of hottness and they make you feel like a member of their slider family. Especially when I got to takeover for Maggie when she went on break. I got to do two full slides with guys. Lucky for me Tia showed me where the spare baby oil is and I got to work. Just my luck, revolver was the customer to break my cherry. He was soooo sweet. Next customer was sweet too but had no idea who he was.
