Palladium Spa (Keele/Steeles)... Talent Missing.

Palladium Spa needs MPAs.

They have a great facility. In fact, they can be on par with SRM I & II when it comes to decor. But that is where it ends. Aside from Bianca, who is away for 6 weeks, there is no reason to go there. There are so many things wrong with their operation.

1.) Greeted by old ponytailed dude (manager/owner?):
Every top 10 MP in the GTA has a female receptionist/ manager at the door to arrange a professional session. In Palladium's case, this balding gnome-like character greets you in his socks and long ponytail. WTF.

2.) $20 Charge to use the ATM??
After seeing the ATM, I figure I better get some money... but $20 bank fee (going to MP) is a rip-off. You are charging us $20 to get money to spend in you MP. Disgusting.

3.) Lots of Rooms... NO MPAs?
This place has about 8 rooms. Really nicely decorated... even towel warmers!!! Showers built for three!!! Unfortunately they have only 1 or 2 MPAs available as the rest of the staff is vacationing. WTF? They have a huge staffing problem, and unfortunately there are 2 or 3 guys in the waiting area.

Male receptionists are nothing new although maybe not as common as in the past amongst top spas but that list has also changed over the years

IT had the Big Blond Guy
HFH had Paul from time-to-time
B&S had a friendly enough guy (I don't remember his name)
BP had Sal
AGS has a guy there from time-to-time
Enigma had a greeter guy there

Frankly I don't give a rats ass is the receptionist is male. Studio 409 has a male and its never been an issue for me. That said I believe there may be some talent there other than Bianca. Layla has had decent reviews if I'm not mistaken. But you are right why all the rooms and only 2 or 3 attendants on shift. Seems like a colossal waste of $$.

I don't see why you want to discrminate against a male receptionist. There is nothing wrong with that, and actually the male who greeted me at AGS was very nice and even bought me a coffee. To me, that shows he cares about repeat business.

The pony tail dude is apparantly the owner. I'm told he treats the ladies quite well, however it seems that many of them leave for unknown reasons. Maybe he's just a lousy manager?

Ladies leave because they aren't making as much money as they want (or believe they can elsewhere). Same reason why spas can't get good talent; they aren't busy enough.

And TeasePlease has nailed it... no talented girls = no business = no chance of staying open.
BTW, I have nothing against male receptionists - as the owner @ AGS (fills in every so often) is a class act - but they must be professional (wear shoes, etc).

Some good conversation here. I went to Palladium once (perhaps 6+ months ago) and was not impressed. I overpaid for an "OK" massage. The rates are way too high for the caliber of girls on staff at that time. The place was super classy, but that was all it had going for it.

I agree. They need to get their prices in line for what they are, they aren't a big successful spa with lots of customers and lots of attendants. I think they have 4 attendants, and one from their schedule works every day - thats burn out big time.

Their 30min rate is $50 which is not worth it, better spas are $40 with way more choice.

The $50 door fee is fine. They have a big investment in their facilities; I don't expect them to charge the same as Lexa/Star.

The problem is with their attendants. Poor selection and service quality way out of line with pricing.

I'm thinking back and I thought the minimum room fee was $70 when I visited (again, this was a while back). Have they lowered the minimum?

In any case, I agree that $50 is not bad considering the investment they have in the decor. But again, as everyone mentioned, they need a lineup of girls to support the high-end theme!

I think they did lower their prices since they first opened. I remember thinking bak then at how high the prices were. I didn't care how nice the place was, I wasn't going to pay that kind of money for the door fee.

IIRC, the $70 was for a 40 or 45 min session, but I could be mistaken in my old age.

Perhaps 30 minute sessions were not an option back then? Hence a $70 minimum? For some reason, I'm remembering a $70 minimum.

I recall $70+$120 for 45 min, and $50+$100 for 30 min. Or something like that. I haven't been there in a while either. I never inquired about their 60 min rate.

I tend to agree with the posts above. Of the ladies on their rather short roster, only Juliana really caught my fancy.

Recently went to try it out. it was 50 for the half. I was blown away by the place. Old pony tail guy really did a great job setting up the place. talent was okay.
