As I pointed out, you would expect that mortality rates would be much higher in subsahran Africa. No surprise there.
But what it really surprising, almost shocking, is that the Muslim countries, all of which, except Iran, have pretty healthy, and in some cases, very high fertility rates(and birth rates) have very low death rates, in general(Afghanistan being the glaring exception).
Out of the 15 countries with the lowest death rates, 12 of 15(including the 9 lowest) are Muslim countries.
So, not only do Muslim countries have higher birth and fertility rates than most Western countries, but they also have lower death rates in most cases!
