newbie problem? help please?

ok so , my friend's has been asking to make a youtube account ~
so i did , and i found out it very interesting ~
but big problem is , like the title said im Newbie on Youtube , i don't know how to record and post the video

my laptop is Dell (lol idk if theres any different with other laptop) , the weird thing about my laptop is , when at all programs on start theres a dell webcame , but i can't take a photo of myself with my cam or take a video ~

so what should i do? i really want to record a video to say hi to all my friends on youtube
but i dont know how to record it , is there any special website? where i can record my video and upload it to my channel on youtube?

I would suggest trying out movie maker. I don't use it, but I believe that there should be a recording feature on it.
