Hey anyone have info on the up coming year and if we can still go across the border with just an ID or Driver's License? A friend of mine said we are going to need passports come 1/1/07...can anyone clarify please?

Took the greyhound, as mentioned earlier From my town to San Ysidro. Grabbed some McDonalds before the Border hopping because I didnt wanna wait and go around TJ looking for food. After going through the mexican side, I saw a few Customs officer, and decided to talk to a few of them about bringing in medicine. They were very helpful and said make sure its not RX and have one month supply and the old man also said 'but don't worry, most of these guys are pretty lenient...'. That put a happy thought in my head.


I continued walking passed the one sided gates, and approached the taxi people. I didn't wanna take the taxi, even though most of them were offering sex and whatever it was. I went straight towards the pharmacy area directly ahead because that was my first priority into TJ. I went to the pharmacy and like the people here posted earlier (Burt, fireball) an Rx is not required on getting most of the medicine, and it's very cheap compared to the USA. (ie. tretinoin, retin-A is About 90 bucks in USA, while its only 11 in TJ).

Problem came in when I wanted this one specific medicine, he said I need an Rx. I gave him a grin and said help me out senior. He called his friend doctor, who sent a driver to pick me up towards central. While waiting, he offered me valium, citrol, viagra and other stuff for cheap prices. I got a free ride and explored the city without a taxi. The driver told me there was mucho mamacitas and that he'll show me around the city after I am done if i wanted to. I told him its okay, i wanna do this first (remembering from the board to avoid locals who wants to show you around). I arrived at the doctor. She asked me what I wanted. I told her. She wrote it down and gave me the slip....

I went around central to all the big pharmacies (roma, internacional). Because of the possible abuse of this drug, I was rejected a lot. I ended up talking to this one pharmacist who new some english. I gave him some extra money to push the deal. He did it, acquiring it from one of the internacional pharmacist who rejected me earlier. He told me that even though I have an Rx this drug is almost a red flag, and keep it safe. I thank him and payed him the extra.

After getting the goods I wanted, I asked for direction towards Zona Norte, since I remembered it was near central anyways. Asking simple questions like Donde Zona Norte. The people around town was very helpful.

Zona Norte, on REvolucion Ave is under the Big Arc. You can't miss it. I walked down a street towards Chicago and that place was kind of dead, I didn't wanna go into it. I turned around headed towards Adelitas. There was a lot of noise and SG's and people calling me in. Before I went into Adelitas, I wanted to check out the rest of the SG's behind, since you guys were talking about it so much on here. Those SG's honestly weren't that bad looking. Of the 30~50 SG's, about 5~10 is good looking. I was behind Adelitas and saw this one curvy girl, Gabriella. She has very big titties. A an above average face with cute eyes. I don't know if I should take your questions serious or not? But I can't see when it it ever good to look like a tourist any place in the world, even in the US.

Leave the Medicine Cabinet and water at home. If your staying only one day, why would you need medicines, if your that worried about getting sick, don't eat in Mexico, but you'll be missing out on great FOOD. Every place you go they sell bottled water and it's safe.

You got it, if your going in the afternoon, plently of SG's around, and AB is the best place for someone new to Tijuana, and has the most girls in the afternoon.

Hey dude you gave yourself away by using the abbreviation AB for Adelitas, only people who been around prostitution forums for some time use that abbreviation, as it is rarely used on this forum. At any rate you seem to know enough to have a good time in Tijuana and don't need anymore advice.

Bring it if you want, but I don't see the need during a day trip. Bars don't have a problem with them, but they do get in the way.


Everyone will know you're a tourist no matter how you dress. Shorts are sandals are sort of against local customs. Wearing them won't cause problems (it's common) but it won't gain you any respect either.


Bring you ID and passport. Leave the rest at home. You can buy water, medicine, etc. when needed. (You'll find little stores everywhere.) Carrying medicine may cause you problems if you are searched by the police.


The major tourist areas are the Zona Norte (for mongers) and Revolucion (for tourists and mongers). They're adjecent to each other.


At 11am things are just getting started. By 1-2pm you'll find a lot more action. That said, there are street girls at almost all hours, and there will be chicas in Adelitas bar.


If you're interested in tourism, then check and places like the Cultural Center and Zona Rio restaurants.

1. I seldom see guys with backpacks in bars, but am not sure if the bars are OK with it. I would be second guessing, so I'll pass on this one.

2. I wouldn't go out of my way to look like a tourist anywhere I travel. I think there's more advaneforum.xxxes to blend in than to stick out. Unless you're Hispanic, otherwise, it wouldn't really matter cause you'll stick out anyways. I find the people in TJ to be friendly or indifferent for the most part. No one really hassles you much except for the hawkers.

3. Water, and ID are fine, but I would not bring any kind of pills across the border. Read some of the threads about the TJ Gestapos extorting money from tourists just for the slightest reasons. Call me paranoid, but I wouldn't give those fools any chance of a reason to get anything from me. And knock on wood, in 18 yrs., they haven't.

4. Besides the bars there are massage palors, SGs, and escort services. I am sure there're more that others can chime in with.

5. Shouldn't be a problem getting some action even during these hours.

For a 1st timer going alone during day time is safer. I would just recommend not straying too far off the main areas until you get more familiar with the surroundings. Good luck/have fun and post a report.

Im a very adventurous student seeking dangerous places in the world. This Wednesday, I plan on taking the greyhound from the L.A Area and arriving in the San Ysidro greyhound terminal. I plan on exploring this city as how you guys been describing it on this forum.


I do have a few questions though. I plan on staying for only 1 day, so I won't be staying at a hotel or anything.


1. Is it a good idea to bring a backpack to and from the border? And do the bars mind if I bring one in?

2. This may seem dumb, but should I look like a tourist? I know in certain situations looking like a tourist can get out of a lot of trouble. But, I'm not a newbie traveler though, I know that looking like a tourist can also get you involved in a lot of scams as well. opinions?

3. What to bring? I plan on bringing water, id/passport, medicine (tylenol, stomach medicines just in case) and an extra shirt just in case.

4. What are some places I can find tourists/mongerers besides the bar.

5. Would I expect much action from SG, AB, around 11am ~4 pm?
Oh yeah, I also plan on going alone. any opinions?
