Newbie at hair straightening .please help!!?

Hi,
I have never straighten my hair but trying to do this now.got few question please help.
1) Before i strainghten my hair i want to put anti frizz serum but it makes my hair dry wet and i should not use my straightner on wet hair.So,when should i apply my anti frizz serum.
2) Same applicable for heat protecting serum..it also makes hair wet so should i apply them and wait till my hair dry.
3) When once my strainghtner is hot enough and ready to strainghten my hair i turn it off or should keep it on untill i strainghten all my hairs.

Umm like the person in front of me said, right after the shower, for both. I am not sure if you need to use these though. I don't, but I guess it depends on your hair type. Section your hair of in layers and go slowly and carefully so you don't miss a spot. Go over it a couple of times to make sure it is all straight and get the back as well as you can. (My room mate always helps me with the back, so maybe your room mate or mom or sisteror whatever can help you). Keep your straightener on the whole time until you're done. You don't want it to loose heat, because then your hair won't straighten well.

That is way cool that you are going to try straighten your hair! Here are some helpful tips!

1. If you have a wet dry straightener you can straighten your hair wet. With that little bit of wetness from the serum you should be just fine.

2. Same answer as above. That little bit of wetness shouldn't be a problem, however if you are worried about it, you might consider the purchase of a wet dry straightener. I have one and I love it. I towel dry my hair and straighten it and it comes out straight and Dry!

3. Go ahead and leave it on while you straighten your hair. The minute you turn it off it is going to start cooling down. It is much easier to achieve straight shiny soft hair with a hot iron then with a cooling one.

Also! Make sure you only straighten little pieces of your hair at a time. You can do your whole head but make sure that you do it in little pieces to insure that your entire head will be straight.

1) Distribute the serum evenly through wet hair, then blow your hair dry with a blow dyer and straighten your hair once it's dry.
2) Same as above.
3)You need to keep your straightener on while you straighten all of your hair, or else the heat will die down and you won't have any heat to work with.

An anti frizz serum isn't really necessary with straightening - straightening your hair will take away the frizz, and the heat protectant will make it smooth and shiny.
Put the heat protectant on your hair when its dry, just before straightening your hair. Don't soak your hair in it, get even coverage. Ideally, it shouldn't sizzle when you straighten but maybe steam a bit.
When your straightener is hot enough and ready, do NOT turn it off till you have finished. It will not get any hotter than the heat you set it to, or is programmed into it.

Hey! Welcome to the fabulous world of straightening!!
1+2) Apply these products when you get out of the shower and your hair is damp then wait till your hair is dry (or dry it with a blow dryer and a paddle brush to make the straightening easier- here is a website that tell you how to blow dry with a paddle brush...http://www.ehow.com/how_2054746_blow-dry-hair.html)
3) Let your straightener heat up until it is ready to straighten. Then, straighten you hair (with it still on) in sections from the bottom layers to the top using a comb to catch your hair right after you have run the straightener through you hair so that you don't burn you hands and so that you hair will be as straight as possible. When you are done, let the section cool and then pin it up. Continue on your whole head in the same way. When you are done all your hair should be pinned on top of your head. Let it down and run the straightener through you hair to smooth any parts and do your bangs. Finnish off with a smoothing serum/ finishing spray/ hairspray if you want.

1) you should wait until after straightening to apply anti frizz serum.

2) the heat protecting serum was developed to protect your hair from you r straightener from frying your hair, therefore you should apply the heat protecting before straightening. (dont apply to much it might hurt your straightener)
3) keep your straighter on until your done, if it gets too hot just adjust the heat on the straightener.

1)I can't believe you have never used one before...Okay, if the anti frizz makes your hair REALLY damp blow-dry it. If its just a little moist flat iron it. If you don't want to blow dry put the anti frizz in your hair and use a towel to dry it and then flat iron it.

3)Haha, keep it on silly, low it down if its too hot never take it off while your doing your hair.
TIP: Start at the roots the flat iron inwards for a great look ^^

Put in on after you get out of the shower so it soaks into your hair folicles. And Leave your straighner on the whole time. It also works best to straighten in layers but, be sure tyou get the back:] hope it helps.

put on any thing u want in your hair before you straighten it and while your putting stuff in/on your hair let the straightener heat up so that it will actually straiten your hair then leave the straightener plugged in and on while u straighten your hair when you straighten your hair just do small chunks so that your hair can get as straight as possible

1. if your hair's wet, just put the anti frizz serum in. if it's silicone based, it's better in wet hair because it won't come across as oily. anti frizz - if your hair's dry, just comb it in with your fingers. you'll be fine either way.

2. if applying heat protecting serum makes your hair wet, you're applying wayyyy too much. and no, you don't have to wait until it dries. go ahead and apply it. once again, if it's silicone based, you should apply with wet hair as well. and not near the roots, or you'll look like you haven't bathed.

3. you should keep it on, darling.
don't turn your straightener off. until you're done, of course
