I would love to here what other members think of this place. I was there right before X-mass and had had great experiences there. Not as hard core as I had heard--

I have have a beer at times and have seen some good prospects paticularly around 5 to 7 in the afternoon.There were one of two I would have tried to take last trip if I hadn't just made a run to Oasis.I will probably try to hook up with someone there when I'm there next month.rbc100

I picked up a couple of pretty good girls out of there on my last trip.

Was able to get them down to $ 40

It's usually hit or miss there, but you can actually sit and chat with a girl in one of their booths ( and play a little ) it's quieter and darker than the BM.

NYB is a nice change of pace from the BM. It is less crowded and the girls are more laid back.

A lot of the ex pat's who use to stop into the Park Hotel for an afternoon
beer and some conversation now go there as do some of the girls who use to hang out at the Park before Bill threw them out for one reason or another.

All in all a good place for a change of pace and like the Park every once in awhile a gem walks in.

Even if nothing is going on the food is good and very fair price.

I went there several times on my first trip last month. Met Marcella (see my trip report), a real cutie. Great attitude and will look for her again even though she probably won't be there. She was going back to Columbia the week after I left, but she was very nice and had a great attitude. The food was excellent and a lot of ex-pats drop in out and tell you of many of the off the wall places. I'm going back on the 10th of Feb for ten days and try to check some them out.

NY Bar

It always struck me as more of a place to hang out than to cruise for compania. It is also where many folks from Lucky's have gone, now that it is closed. When I stayed at the Prez, I usually went there for my, "primera zarpe," and often spent time in the aftenoon. The food is OK, most of the time, and some of the bartenders are fun to flirt with.

I go to the NY reasonably often. Neilin the Nica bartender is quite an eyefull, tall dark and built to last. My roommate was just about to go out with her (he CLAIMS (joke, Kotigre)) when he settled down with a GF. I believe she's available but I suspect she's not going to be easy to impress. The other bartenders are nice, but some have boyfriends/husbands.

Luckys, AKA the piano bar, closed faster than a bad Broadway drama. (it was open a long time but close without warning) I was taken totally by surprise and I have seen some of the regulars there hanging out at the New York now.

The New York, like the piano bar, has it's share of working girls lurking in the background. Most don't care much for the BM but go there if they can't score a client at the NY.

By the way, the only freebie I ever got was in the NY. A working girl took a shine to me (god knows why) and ended up going home with me for free (taxi money excepted). There are 'regular' girls there too, though, so be a bit cautious about asking price right off the bat...

Piano Blanco

Lucky's, the Piano Blanco, closed around the end of my last trip. I used to stop there all the time before returning to the Prez. I've spent many Sunday aftenoons there, after lunch at Club 1930, drinking too much and flirting with Norma. The late owner was murdered in Guanacaste.

OK, understand that you guys talking about Lucky's (which he wasn't) Piano Blanco Bar. We use to always call that the Piano Bar.
Years ago there was a bar on Avenida 1 that was named Lucky's, guess thats why I was confused. Sorry.

At the risk of making a favorita so popular that she will not have time for me in the future, I will reveal that one of my favoritas hangs out there during the day. Her name is Anna and she is pictured in a red top on Don Gordo's website: http://www.dongordo.com
She is also friendly with some other board members as well.

I ran in to her last Jan 5th and made a date with her for early the next morning at my hotel. She arrived on time and in good spirits at 10 AM.

When I saw her in the bar she introduced me to her chica friends sitting around there. I asked her to do this so that in the future they will know that I am not some guy to be afraid of. Unfortunately none of her friends were as attractive as she is but after X beers they all look better as we know. And some of the best experiences and friendships come from not the hottest looking chicas, And I am not a super looking guy by anymeans but my money looks good I guess.

I prefer to think they love me, but I have been known to be wrong.

In summary it is a close, safe, potential gold mine for chicas who are not 10s. Sort of hit or miss.
