new ragdoll cat, how to introduce her to my other adult cat?

i just got a 3 year old female desexed ragdoll and bought her home to my 6 year old oriental desexed male and she snarls constantly at him and backs away wont go near him and i have put them on other sides of a screen door to smell each other and have put my male in a carrier and he was just sitting there and she was snarling at him, then i was holding her sitting on the couch and he was walking our way and ran slowly towrds her and she freaked and hissed and snarled like crazy and he went for her so i took her in m bedroom w/ bathroom att and she was very upset and wont leave the corner. how to introduce them so they will get along he has been a only cat for 5 years and never had another cat
help is greatly app cos she doesnt like being in the bedroom at night

Hi there!
Im actually a Ragdoll Breeder and i had the same problem. The male was my first, and 2 weeks later we brought home the female. funnily enough they were even from the same breeder so they did know each other. If one snarls at the other, just clap your hands to startle them everytime they snarl. eventually they will be ok. As long they dont fight you have nothing to worry about. Theyll settle in with each other soon enough
And...When we brought our second female home, Oyr male was fine but then the female started hissing!! Again, the clap worked but the female took longer to adjust then our male. Maybe give it a week or two just using the clapping method. If you keep putting them away from each other theyll never get used to each other!
