PERKINSTON, Miss. (WLOX)— The Sunray Companies presented a check to Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College on Monday to support students in the massage therapy program. The students will receive $200 to help cover uniforms and other fees.
The program itself is offered at no cost to students through a BP Gulf Coast Work Ready Grant.
Students who have graduated from the program are going right into the workforce. “Students are finding job placement in the casino industry, and some are starting their own business. So it’s really been a very successful program,” said MGCCC President Dr. Mary Graham.
The program is two semesters long and is open to new students.
