Memory foam mattress topper

Hi, have sever back problems and wondered if anyone has used a memory foam mattress topper who has back troule and if they work with easing pain while you sleep?would be very greatful for any replys,nice to know if they really work,before i buy one!Thank You,Tracey.

I have a pillow made with stuff and recommend them on occasions, but haven't tried the matress topper. Folks seem to love this foam or hate it.

I was experiencing alot ofpaininbetweenand on the outer edges of the scapulas andmy neck was bothered too, Isuspectedthe cause maybe from the fact that I like to sleep on my sides alot and I had a firm matress.
I purchased a memory foam topper 3" thick and the 4 lb density and its great, from the very first night I was experiencing relief and now that I don"t have the pressure point pain it allows me to listen to my body closer.

I personally can't stand them as I fidget so much and it doesn't mould quickly enough to my new position! I can see though how they could be good for some people.

Thats why I purchased the 4 lb density, a tempur pedic is alittle over 5 lb density and that has been a complaint.

We bought a Cal King size 3 inch 4 pound density topper from Overstock.com, and we love it! My wife and I both have back problems and it's great to sleep on. We additionally bought two of the memory foam contour pillows. It took me a little while to get used to the feel, but now I really like it too. We bought another memory foam topper from some jerk on Ebay, but found it was too mushy. He promoted it as being 4 pound density, but it felt like half that. After contacting Ebay about it, he said I could return it. I discovered that you have to use special equipment to decompress it, so I ended up cutting it up and using the pieces on our 9 foot sofa, two recliner chairs and my computer chair. His brandfeels great to sit on, but definitely not to sleep on. We highly recommend them, it's like sleeping on a cloud!

Just bought my son a Myers mattress which has an integrated layer of memory foam - it cost £200 and it is a lovely firm supportive mattress. I've tried the tempur beds and i damaged my back trying to get off it! Also remember if you buy a topper your bed and mattress has to be brilliant too as you cant disguise an old or bad mattress with a topper!

Personally i would go and try new mattresses and see how you go - I like the Myers and Relyon for support and comfort!

A month ago I visited a mattress showroom in London, in search for a great ortopaedic mattress. I have back problems and I have slept on a very hard futon for many years and found that really great, but the futon was old so i decided to get something new and even better. I tried loads and loads of mattresses until i came accross a TEMPUR. Both my wife and me were amazed trying the mattress and got really hooked by it. We just thought it was sturdy, yet soft, nice and cozy, all good things.... so we decided to purchase one. We bought it off a website for £975. The day we received it we hopped on and thought "aaahhhhh, this is life"..... ......... morning after: how did u sleep? mmmm.... not so good, i kept not finding a good position.... feels weird.. uhm, yes, but let's give it a few more days... so day after... how did u sleep? bad! i kept sweating a lot and then got my duvet away then i was cold again and so forth... uhm me too.... third night... yeah my back aches a bit, i keep sweating....uhm... yeah....bad....

we sold the mattress on ebay.
not for us.

i thought that TEMPUR did a 60 day refund if you weren't satisfied with the mattress? 60 days is quite a long time to try something out and then if you don't like it you can send it back? I have a pillow from them and find it great - haven't tried a mattress yet.
Buying on e-bay not give you this type of refund possibility I guess.

My back used to be really bad. We bought a new bed, I slept on my back and had some Bowen, all this over the course of about 6 years. It is so lovely we bought another for the spare bed. The next time my daughter came to stay she commented on how lovely it was.

I just put my normal mattress onto the woodedn floor in our bedroom and the support it gave was much better than when it was in the bed frame, got a lot more sleep from doing that and it didnt cost any money.
