Medical insurance question

Allo,
I have heard that I could claim the bills for all the visit that I have done to MP to my private medical insurance company .
I wonder to know if somebudy knows if are there any problem with the medical insurance companies when they check and find that Spa ISIS is not exactly a therapeutic massage,
or they never check such information?

You shouldn't have any probs. I've never been to Isis, but I've received issurance from other place and never had the smallest problem.

some pvt med ins. accept massotherapy clinic and some doesn't, but i think it must be a registered at recognized association. how do u know if a mp is legally registered? if one day they do check ur claim, and people u work with knows....

I think most private insurance companies have a limit on the amount you can claim per year,say 200$ to 500$with the receipts of course.You can also claim with the receipts of course on your income tax at the end of the year,if you don t have private insurance.Be reasonable, don t charge 4000$ of massages on your tax form,go for 5oo$ to 1000$.To be sure, talk to an accountant.

Usually insurance companies will pay a set ammount for a massage; if the massage is done be a liscensed massage-therapiste. Her liscense number must appear on the receipt and yes they do verify. When making an appointement just ask if they give receipts for insurance, they will know what you mean.

-Physician Charges - 100% - Reasonable and customary cost
-Annual Exam -100% - One examination
-Diagnosis Services -100% - Reasonable and customary cost
-Psychologist -Up to $500 - Outpatient consultations
-Paramedical Practitioners -Up to $500 per type of practitioner physiotherapist, chiropractor, osteopath, chiropodist or podiatrist
Prescription Drugs - Up to $10,000 - Medicines prescribed by a physician
-Private Duty Nursing - 100% - Medical services of a licensed nurse in the insured person’s home up to 60 days per sickness or injury
-Other Supplies And Services - 100% - Necessary appliances
-Emergency Treatment Outside the Province - 100% - Reasonable and customary cost

If your insurance did cover massotherapy, it should have been in the following paragraph I would think:
-Paramedical Practitioners -Up to $500 per type of practitioner physiotherapist, chiropractor, osteopath, chiropodist or podiatrist.
I once had coverage for massotherapy and it was up to $500 per year. I did not use it myself at the time, but someone else in the company did. I should have taken advantage of 10 free rub 'n tugs per year...live and learn I guess.
As stated by naughtylady, it is usually a set amount per year and should indicate specifically that it covers massotherapy.

Well, I would imagine the extra $20 for release probably doesn't appear on the receipt. Rub is free, tug costs extra.

with business company, this is another story: i tried a while ago and they did not accept my receipt, because he masseuse was not registered. Just or physiotherapy, i have to get a prescripton from my family doctor.

You need (1) a prescription from a doctor. This prescription is valid forever as long as there is less than a six month interval between times when you send in a receipt and (2) the masseuse needs to be registered the Massage association and thu have a masseuse number so that she can fill out the req'd oficial receipt. Most Insurance cies cover $500/yr. I've sent them in for years and never had a problem.

Well put Randy.. that's exactly it. Most insurance companies cover 80-100% of the massage for a total of 500$ a year
Just have to call the MP ahead and ask if they provide insurance receipts. All those who do, have atleast one person who is certified and they just put that person's license number on all the receipts.

All of this is fine and dandy. But as previuously stated before, in order to punch your massage receipts through, you have to have been referred to a registered masturbotherapist by your family doctor. I have tried this a the questions asked were endless; if your back-ache persists you should go have x-rays taken, or here I recommend you go to such and such, sports-medical physio clinics. All I wanted to say is; Screw my back, I want to get my knob tugged on and have my friggin' volcano erupt and have my private medical insurance pay for it!!!!!

In the end, did not work, too many questions and not worth the doctor conning as he probably has seen 20 or more eforum.xxx'ites asking the same thing, the same way. Or am I going about this the wrong way???

If your company has an insurance plan that pays for massages, 1) they insist that you have to go to a licenced massotherapist and he/she has to be recognized by the massotherapist assosiation of Quebec. 2) Your boss gets a list of expenditures that you incure as this has a direct coralation to the amount of insurance premiums your company pays.

Evidently there was a case in Sweden of a man that was incapacitated in an accident and sued the government of Sweden to pay for his monthly visits to a brothel, he claimed that the visits had a calming effect on him. As a result the government of Sweden now has to pay for about 2000 people for monthly visits to brothels and massage parlours. (and these places do not have to be recognozed by the massotherapist assosiation of Quebec)

Just imagine ...

I was going to AGAT and they where giving me receipts and i had no problems with my insurance ... untill one of my bosses found out i was going at the massage therapy every second week . Well he insisted on going because he was in pain all the time after his work out and didnt know of a good place and didnt want to end up in a dump ...

So he went to AGAT and after a few weeks he let me in on his visits and thanked me ...

So not every body knows where to get a descent massage
