Hi,Does anyone use a hand held massager? If so, how do you incorporate it into your practice?  I'm a contractor at a local massage practice.  I'm just starting out.  I finished a massage with a hand held massager instead of hacking.  The client loved it. He rescheduled for the third time.  However, the person that I am contracting with was opposed and doesn't want me to use it. He believes that massage should only be done with your hands.  He doesn't like the way it feels on him and doesn't know anyone who uses it.  I explained that my instructor used it on us when needed for a short period of time.  There is nothing in my contract stating that he can control how I conduct a massage.

I have a Jeanie Rub that my husband bought from his barber before I ever started massage. I love it and use it on my husband and friends, but have not taken it to the salon. No particular reason, I just hadn't really thought about it. It feels really good, and leaves your skin feeling great, very smooth, if you use it until it gets warm. I agree that no one should dictate the way you do your massage, especially if you are a contractor. Is this person a massage therapist?

yes, the person is a massage therapist. I would understand if I received a complaint or used it for more than a minute.

it really isn't any of his business.  i wouldn't use one but i would never tell someone else not to.  what you do is just that....
