I used to order good luck Chinese coins from eBay, they usually go for $1 to $10 each depending on the content. They arrive prepackaged with each coin in it's own plastic container. The coins have the Zodiac animal of the year on one side and the Chinese zodiac calendar on the other. Some shippers also provide silk coin bags for each coin, or they can ordered separate for a very small fee.
Very cheap, very nice looking, and representative of the Chinese New Year.
I have seen too many gifts of food tossed away uneaten, they accept them but often have already had all the New Year foods they can stomach. If your going to give food, best to give at a time of year when they are not already stuffed.
Red Envelopes’ with some amount of money are popular and show you have some knowledge of their culture.

For special girls you need to give special gifts, which do cost more, in private well away from jealous eyes. Don’t just go guessing about special gifts, know something about the special girl and gift appropriately. If you present the wrong gift it will go to one of the others when you’re not around.
Also be aware, many of these girls are on travel to here and when they leave large gifts are left behind so think small and easy to pack.
