Lotions/Creams for custom scents

[Amayzing Asian Persuasion]

I am thinking about trying to make some customized scents using essential oils.  I have found a few "recipes" for which essential oils to use that sound really yummy.  I want to add them to either a lotion or a cream, as opposed to an oil base.  Does anyone have any experience on the best creams or lotions to use for this purpose?  I like a smooth glide, lasting workability, but not a greasy feeling.  Yes. . . . I do want it all!Thanks!

I have been having success with FX Creme and EOs.  Only have two mixed, one for relaxation and one pain relief mixed for the full body.

Thanks Gator!I have seen the FX products at massage whse - I'm not familiar with the EOs - do you have a preference?Also, how do you go about mixing the essential oils into a cream?Thanks again . . .

You can go to FX's website and request a free sample of each type they offer.  I don't necessarily base my choices on smells but more on their effects.  I use lavender and chamomile to help relaxation.  I blend by putting a few ounces in a lotion bottle, add the EO by drops until I get the specified amount (whether its a partial body or for full body), then add a few more ounces of lotion and mix well.  Before use I remix to distribute the oils again.  The bottles my EOs come in have a drip feature to make it easier.The EOs I use are from Windrose, distributed by the owner's granddaughter's company, Time Laboratories.  As an MT I can get them at wholesale price.This is how I do it but no doubt there are many other ways.  Hopefully some will share how they use them.

Thank you both so much for the great info!  It sounds like you both already have some good blends - I got a new massage whse catalog in the mail today, it has several recipes for massage, diffusers and bath.  Can't wait to get started
