One other thing to think about: when you read LA reviews in TER, you see a lot more--and a lot more serious--rip-offs in LA than you do in NYC. Especially escorts with potentially menacing drivers. Do your homework.

Depends. In my experience, the AMPs are about the same but I've noticed some of the indies are a little less expensive than those in NYC.

Some LA suggestions: 1. In re: Temple of Bliss--just my opinion, but I always think it's a good idea to steer clear of anything advertising itself as "tantric." It's inevitably an over-priced rub 'n' tug with annoying breathing exercises and half-baked lessons in Hindu philosophy. 2. You'll see a free erotic newspaper (I forget what it's called) in LA, complete with ads for massages and such, offered in sidewalk vending machines--check it out if you want, but don't trust the ads. 3. There's another free newspaper you'll see in the vending machines, I think it's called the "LA Press," that's sort of an LA version of the Village Voice--it has ads for massage places, especially AMPs, that are pretty reliable. 4. There are several FS AMPs on Santa Monica Blvd. in West Hollywood (check the LA Press or BP for ads)--I've had pretty good experiences at these places, usually with extremely hot chicks. 5. Cityvibe is used by LA providers to a larger degree than it's used in NYC so it's worth checking out. 6. Also check out a site called Thatmall.com.
