just came back fr China - first trip. just one thing to say, to each his own. back here in malaysia, most men don't wash hands after peeing into urinals. always wash hands after shaking anyone's hands. toilets here r still dirty, common sense has yet to prevail even here.

i do agree chinese has a bad habit of gob-spitting almost anywhere n anytime. bad experience in most of China's loos, with anything thrown into urinals(burnt fags, papers, clips, plastic bits), causing overflowing, knowing that the rubbish bin is there, not flushing after shitting, or no water in WC nor taps. and in almost all herieforum.xxxe sites, shopping centers and hotels!!!! yet they sell Vertu phones in a stall within a shopping complex but horrible toilets in Haerbin!!

dude i feel your pain. but try and live amongst the malaysian chinese in kuala lumpur they are the most uncivilised rude money hungry barbarians on earth. whether educated or poor or whatever. the men all try and act like gangsters. the women are arrogant but whores. i used to catch a bus to work there as a foreigner

one time i was going to another part of the city for a couple of days at midday , a crazy looking mini skirted leggy chinese women around 41-42 would stare at me with a mixture of disdain and arrogance.she looked almost like a junkie with the wild look on her face but always wore a business suit.she always sat opposite me on the bus and crossed her legs to turn me on.the second time i got off the bus the same time as her , as i did she reacted all shocked and acted like i was threatning her. i said to her you look good. she gestured i follow her. we hardly spoke but she walked me up to her apartment and proceeded to fuck me senseless.i came in her bareback.

I visited the Expo a couple of weeks ago. Most of what of I saw was just videos and photos being displayed.
Not worth the hassle.
I would certainly not recommend for anyone to waste their time going.
Spend your 6 days in Beijing.

6 days? I would opt to spend them only in Beijing.
Beijing has on offer:

- Great Wall
- Forbidden City
- Temple of Heaven
- Tiananmen Square
- Hundredthousands of girls , good looking, willing and all waiting for you to fuck them against small money

Shanghai has only

- EXPO (with queuing, as you say!)
- Pearl-Tower
- Bund
- Nanjing Lu (it is a nice shopping street...)
- Girls

Xian: I don´t know, never been there.

The attractions in Beijing would fill up your time.
Great Wall alone is worth one day.
Same for temple of Heaven and Forbidden City, in both you can spend at least half a day each, depending on your own interests.
Tiananmen Square is not long time, but you shouldn´t miss it out - impressive.

There are probably a lot of other sights, but I haven´t seen them yet.

The Chinese have, by the way, almost everywhere in these great cultural sites English descriptions for the tourists from abroad. So you are not going to die stupid.

I have 6 day's in China: would it sound unreasonable to visit Beijing, Shanghai and Xian in the 6 days to see the sights and also to monger?

And is the expo really worth visiting? I keep hearing about the terrible waiting lines and "reservations" needed to enter some booths..

I was already in China, and was asked to appear briefly in a TV commercial and was paid the $45.

My point is that I was trying to explain to "gyrene" that getting paid for "being white" is not enough to support yourself in China.

I was wondering if any of you fellow mongers had the oppurtunity to find some of these jobs or know of anyone that has had one of these jobs. Was in Shandong province recently for 6months. Plenty of moslems over there, but you can only tell from their homes, and the way they dress. and of course the restaurants run by them. I can not remember to have seen any mosques around.

I just got back from Xinjiang. Local people are almost entirely Muslim. The Han are all transplants. Beautiful part of the world, but not the easiest place to travel to.

The furthest West that I had come is Chongqing.

And there I have not seen anythingg Moslem at all.
