Le Grillon...My Take

Went to Le Grillon last week with a couple other guys. Here is my take:

- The girls are okay, at best. Most are around 20-30lbs overweight and love to plop that big ass in your lap to see if she can grind your sausage. I don't care for a lap full of heifer so that didn't do anything for me.

- Ordered a Gingerale. I paid with a $10,000c note and the waiter came back with my change and the tab. He never showed me the tab, just stood there with the correct change in hand and counted it three or four times, then gave me $7,000c and walked with the rest. That's right, $3,000c, $6.00US, for a soda and he had the right change in hand, just decided to rip me off. Nice place.

- The porkers just kept coming. One 5-6 after another. Then a well dressed Tico came in and was seated stage-front. The manager disappeared and returned with an 8-9 which he presented to the Tico. She was nowhere present for the 1/2 hour prior to this dewd's arrival.

That was enough for me, although I really wanted to bathe the waiter with the rest of my $6 soda. I won't be back there.

Interesting- when I was there with Smoothwind, we just loved the place, and thought at least 5 or 6 were HOT, and this included some spinners. Not sure if this is a YMMV, or if you caught a very bad night. These places change so quickly, and vary hugely. Perhaps your idea of overweight is differnet than mine- I am into banging bone.

I was there a couple weeks ago and would say it was quite a bit better than what you describe here Pac55, though it wasnt as good as the last time I had been there. All these joints are "hit and miss". One night they will have a majority of their "A" team onboard, and the next time, its the B or C group. Partly that is the adventure that is CR where ya never know. But it IS disappointing to not have it meet previous expectations. Also probably some YMMV factor here. Someone recently posted that Kamur was a nice spot...last time there I swore I would never go back it was so bad.

The other factor in your experience on the drink price MIGHT have been...if you didnt pay a cover, and only had one soft drink, they sometimes impose a door charge or minimum consumo on patrons. I have hardly ever had an issue there because I consume call liquor and always have a tab far above the door charge. So...that could have been a factor as well.

Sorry you had a bad night. It happens. But...there ARE some keepers there. They just might have been "busy" :wink: .

Timing is everything in Costa Rica! The first time i walked into the HDR i wondered what all the fuss was about. But when the A team arrived i knew right then that i would always visit Costa Rica!(HDR).While i have never visited the LG there seems to be more good reports than bad so i'll give it a try in a couple weeks.(but my favorite place will always be the HDR!) :wink:

When I was there, the cover was 3,500 colones and they gave you 3 tickets I believe it was 3 mixed drink or 3 beers. Yeah I had few overweight chicas want to sit in my lap and order a drink but there were also some nice talent. I liked the local feel of the club as the only gringos were about 6 CRT guys.

I was there a couple of weeks ago, the only gringo in the place. They charged me 4k to get in. Very reasonable,$8 which included 3 delicious ron centenario & cokes.

The talent was down fron my trip in January when I had a hard time deciding which hot chica I was taking upstairs. Still I saw some pretty decent talent onstage & had a good time. Then it was off to Molino Rojo for a 9k special tica.

The 5-6 times I was there it was impressive all things considered. I have been fortunate enough to be with a few very good looking girls for around $35. Normally they do not charge a cover but I guess if they think they can get away with it, they will. Once they tried and we told them our last visit(the night before) was no-cover and they let us in. I think it's a great place if the talent is good.

I have always felt that I was not really Welcome in the Tico places tolerated maybe but not Welcome . I can understand it though if I put the shoes on the other foot and I was a Tico I would resent Gringos coming and taking the girls in my face. I do understand their feelings that is why I do not go to these places any more. Is it only me ? H.

I have found good talent at Le Grellion my last several trips and also the drink hustle is not too bad which I like. I enjoy going for the show even if I don't take a girl. I have found Sunday night a good night to visit for two reasons, first very few local places open and second better availabilty of girls as less busy.

Also, as far as feeling welcome in tico places I have always felt more than welcome in the places and am even freinds with waiters and staff in some.rbc100

I have never felt unwelcome at LG. The only small problem I have seen is many of the girls don't speak English, so they usually won't approach you. This isn't necessarily bad though.

They even had a Birthday cake for me on my birthday, the owner comp'd me a free session in the VIP room (which I had no idea they even had), and when we went to leave he had his driver take us to the next club in his SUV.

I contacted Rolltide since his visa process went so fast. The last time I saw her she was being swept down stream in the Rio de Tijuana. I had heard rumors that she may have ended up in Alabama.

I've always felt that Le Grillion was the best of the "low rent" MPs (even though it is slightly more expensive than the others)... I always saw a lot of familiar faces from the higher end strip clubs (once they got a bit of mileage on em).

BTW, you won't make any friends at any strip club ordering non-alcoholic drinks. Just the way it is.

Another thing that happened to me at LG;

As some of you may know I have been known to imbibe Rom & Coke in small, and limited, quantities while in CR.

This night at LG I was a little wasted, but not casuing a scene, my future ex suggested that I start drinking water. I had a water and finished it. She went on stage, and I went to the bar to ordered a Rom & Coke, which I did. The bartender (Mr. Happy) laughs, and hands me a water, and won't take any money (other than his tip). It seems between my future ex and the owner, they had told all the waiters and bartenders that I was only to have water. For the rest of the night when i finished a water, a new one was brought without asking, and all were free.

The owner, bar staff, and waiters at LG have treated me better than I have ever been treated in any club in the world. That says quite a bit coming from an old f*rt alcoholic.
