Heard City Hall visited Happy Girl this month and found a few girls working without visas. Also that VPD visited HG three times over a few days and questioned customers coming in. Also heard LE in Burnaby paid a couple of visits to Atlantis.

I got a good long look from a cop as I walked out of Accupointe a while ago. I walked straight into the Korean restaurant next door like saying "oops wrong door" I actually stayed and had a great bowl of Neang Myun.
Has become my favourite Korean restaurant.

Yes, unfortunately the RCMP in BBY seem to enjoy checking in on Accupointe and Atlantis........almost to the point they seem to be following Lucy I remember a couple of years ago, I was caught up in one of their visits to Accupointe. Lucy was still there at the time and the cops just took my drivers license and did a check on me, which took about 15 min..... After not finding anything, they just gave me one of those moral lectures and told me to go. Ironically, they left first and Lucy finished what we had started

How exactly do customers get busted at MPs? I thought the SOP was to go in and get solicited and bust the SP. Do they actually bust into the room? Any way to protect oneself?

Very surprised to hear about you getting caught in a sting at Accupoint. Scary stuff. The only time I ever got caught I was at 475 E Broadway with Ping Ping. For anybody who knows her, she must have had at least 3 towels covering my body at the time. All they did was move on to the next room. As you know, Joe, luck has a way of following me everywhere. Knock on wood.

I was scheduled to begin Federal jury duty today, but all those scheduled to start today will not be needed. Now, for me, that is luckier than that other incident I told you about. Nothing worse than Jury duty, especially Federal.

The only time that a cop can compel you to hand over your Drivers' License is when you are driving.

Most other times, my response is (and has been once), "Sure, I will give you my Drivers License, but you have to arrest me first. Then we are going to court, because if you don't have the balls to follow it through, I get my lawyer and find a way to sue you - wrongfull arrest or harrassment perhaps." It worked.

The only exception will be (as I said above) if I am driving or if I think that the cop has a weak case but can cause trouble for me even if he loses. I will then try to negotiate the terms under which he can see my license.

Whups, one more thing. If a real crime (someone's been assaulted or stolen from etc.) has occurred I will do whatever I can to assist (I have served on a jury several time and been a foreman) and I have a great respect for the police in this capacity. They are only pigs when they poke their noses in stuff that is not there business - sex, drugs etc.).

I am looking forward to the day when I can tell a judge, "I cannot in good conscience send a person to jail for doing what is his own business and not the state's."

The law is that a cop can stop you anytime you are driving a car and check if you have a valid driver's licence and insurance. Nothing you can say or do to the contrary, and nothing wrong with the cops right to check. However, although they may ask you where you are going or why you were visiting an AMP, you are under no obligation to answer, and you can reply as such. They can make any suggestion as to what you are doing, and you can always simply reply 'no'. They cannot do anything more, unless they have good cause to believe you fit a description of a suspect in a crime that they are investigating.

I am pro-LE in many respects, and value their work. However, I do think that their focus should be on the pimps and drug pushers and the HIV positive SWs rather than the relatively safe environment of a MP, unless of course if the MP has a sideline in drug dealing or fencing stolen property.
