I went to this place yesterday because the Bluesea spa was closed down by the city. This spa opened about 6 months ago and business has been steady according to the girls. From what I can tell, it is not as busy as the bluesea one.
The place is newer, cleaner and has better renovation done.,such as the faucets are working properly and the floor is not too wet, also no funny muky smell. The lounge area is fairly decent with big screen TV and comfy chairs. So far so good.
I pick an older lady-Lisa from the line up and hoping for exprienced masseuse with good skill. She did not disappoint me. Good hard massage and a nice walk on my back. I suggest any extra option on the menu but she insists that no extra is allowed in this place and even said a girl was fired because of the HJ. I did not enquire any further. Overall I would recommand to someone to try if they are only looking for legit massage in a clean place. an good alternative to PalmSpring Spa of Raddison Hotel with cheaper price. The rate is $40 per session if you purchase the package $400 for 10 sessions. Of course tips is on top.

Does the doorman at a hotel give you head? Does the bellboy rub your nuts? But you tip them right? For service. If you get a good massage you give them an extra twenty to show your appreciation. And trust me, the better the tip, the better the massage the next time.

Do you tip your massage therapist? Or how bout your doctor? The whole tippining thing with people who are making more per hour than I am is all wrong. MPA who work in MP are only making tips. Massage therapist who work in in a "Massage only" enviroment are making a wage. (definatly not minimum). So I have a hard time tipping one of those for no "extras" just my 0.02

I totally agree with oppai about the tip thing. Those ladies working as masseuses are getting almost nothing from the hourly charges that you paid. their main income is from the tips. More or less like the waiter/waitress in the restaurant business. Tips are the major source of their earnings. trust me, I used to work as a busboy in a restaurant when i was going to high school years ago. When you head into one of these outfits , the lady at the front will remind you about the tips because most non-chinese don't know the custom on tipping. One thing for sure, if you are the receiving end, you will much appreicate the tips- it means more than money because tipping shows your appreciation of their services. This is my 2 cents.

You're paying 40-60$ for a 50 to 70 minute session at these "no extras" places like Blue Sea or L&M....and youare paying that at the front, how much per hour do you really think the girls are getting? I think an extra 20 on top is well worth it and very deserved for these girls. Now if you are in a clinic that accepts health care and all that I'd say tipping is not as expected although if I had an exceptional massage I might. And to compare a girl making maybe 15-20 per hour to a doctor is a tad silly.

I agree, that if you are going to a place that does offer "extras" but you do not take them up on it, then you should tip, as those girls make nothing except the tips. However this place does not offer extras, so in my opinion the girls would have to be paid by the hour to be there. if they are making 1/2 of the room rate, which is 20 a session, and assuming that a session is an 1/2 an hour... they are making approx. $ 40 per hour.. give or take... Even if they are making half of that - $20.00/hr. is still ahellofa lot more than a bus boy/waitress .. etc. Hell I barely make that. So for just a straight massage in a straight place I don't expect nor will I tip. Just my logic.. Everyone has a right to their's!

Well, if you are barely making 20/hr that would explain not wanting to leave a tip for someone who is providing you with an enjoyable service. Anyhoo, you are right, you're entitled to your own opinion on this matter, but I just hope you could understand why tips are expaected. And the massages at these non-extra places are not $40/30 minutes. Mine was $40/50 minutes.....basically an hour considering the girls clean the towels up after the session etc etc.

I would have to agree with sanity... I've had such poor service at restaurants before that I've paid the bill with exact change - and waited for the server to take notice that there was no tip. Obviously, that's a piss poor attitude but the fact of the matter is, when you enter into a service-establishment, you expect some level of service other than piss-poor... hence, if the service is good, tip them well...if it's bad, it's up to you.

In terms of MP's - I would have to say that if you expect to go into a MP that offers extras and the girl doesn't offer anything, then a minimal tip for their time would be acceptable (and of course, the discussion into "extras"is for another thread)...

That I don't agree with. How does getting bad service relate to the cost of the food you ate? If the food was bad and the service was bad then maybe I could understand it. But you should still pay for the food providing it was what you ordered and didn't have worms crawling out of it.

I think the whole point is when you received a lousy massage and is still forced yourself to tip is unreasonable. However, if you got a decent massage with no extra I still think it is nice to tip the poor girl who is trying so hard to earn a living in a legit way. If you looking for girls that offer extra then you should go to the right place ( Bex, Kingdom, Swan etc. ) or request that prior you go into the room. Overall, when you walk in a place like-Palmspring, L&M, you are fully expected to tip regardgless the amount. If the service or the attitude of the girl is very poor, you should mention it to the manager and explain why you would not tip the girl.
