Kriya Practitioner
Hi there!I am a certified Kriya Massage Pract. who graduated from DoveStar about 6 yrs ago and have been in private practice since. ย Kriya Massage is a slow, flowing form of massage that really allows my clients to zone out - many clients notice a difference compared to other massages that they have rcv'd. ย I am not personally familiar with Esalan Massage, but I have heard that Kriya is *somewhat* similar. ย Our training up at school really drills in our heads being in the moment when working with clients and working to develop, trust & listen to our intuition. ย The other beautiful thing about Kriya is that you can easliy work other modalities into a Kriya session - Reiki, Neuromuscular, stretching, etc. ย When I incorporate other modalities, I still work to make everything 'flow' to keep the Kriya going. As far as training up at DoveStar - If I had to do my training all over again, I would not change a thing - love the school. ย I trained with some excellent instructors who were very passionate about teaching & still have many good connections with people I trained with.In response to the students that were not pleased with training, it seems to me that many massage schools have issues that they need to deal with & DS is no exception... ย but for the record, I have heard complaints from students from the other schools in the immediate area & I think that DS's massage style is well worth any bumps one may encounter as a student. Also, Kriya massage is different than the Kriya yoga mentioned in the book above.Hope this sheds some light & would be happy to answer any add'l questions!!!heather ย
