Is introducing my sister as my half sister rude?

Me and my family and a couple people I dont know were at a jewelry party for my sister and we were all supposed to go around the room and tell everyone our names and how we know her. It got to my turn and not really thinking about it I said my name and that she was my half sister. Later on that day my mom tells me how sad and rude it was for me to have said that. My mom then goes on and tells a lot of my family about it and of course theyre on her side with it. i wish i could go back to change that answer because my mom made me feel awful about it. Was it rude to say that? I definitely wont try to change up answers like that anymore.

I have 2 half sisters and I have never considered them half sisters...they are my sisters no matter who fathered them and it probably hurt her feelings just explain to her that you didnt mean to say it...and you def didnt mean for it to hurt her.
