Introducing two cats?

My current cat is a two year old Bengal male cat, neutered and declawed.

My current addition is a two year and 1/2 Maine Coon coming from where I volunteer at. He is already here in my room. I do not know how to introduce them, because due to a lot of inhibitions such as children, and no other available rooms (including my room doesn't have a door) I cannot introduce them formally.

I suspect my bengal won't take well, he doesn't at first. I noticed that when I brought in a few rescues last year. What tips do you have for me to introduce the two without the separation method?

I'm not sure, it's allways pretty hard. When we intoduce ours, we haven't really had a problem. The worst we had was the kitten didn't like our one from my dad's house when we had him for the weekend once. Luckily, that cat is so docile he wasn't really effected by another cat's presence. Knowing he wasn't the friendliest bugger, when we brought him to my mother's, we put him in a large dog crate, were the door was metal meshing. This made the other cat much more used to him. So when we let them both out two days later, it was much more calm, but we still watched them. I don't know what you want to do, it is allways much harder with adults. Good Luck.
