My mom's boyfriend is moving in and he's bringing his cat with him. The cat is female and her name is Squeak.
I have two male cats; Olly and Jerry. John (my mom's boyfriend) went out of town for about a week a while ago and Squeak stayed at our house during that time. Jerry is a mainly outdoor cat so he didn't really care about Squeak.
But Olly is an indoor cat and him and Squeak didn't get along at all. Whenever they would get near each other they would end up just starting and growling and hissing and not moving for a while.
But within the next few days Squeak will be returning to this house permanently. Clearly I did something wrong with their introduction last time, so I want to get it right this time. I understand that Squeak and Olly won't be "buddies" for a while, but if you have any tips on helping them tolerate each other, it would be greatly appreciated.
And how should the initial introduction go? They seemed to hate each other last time, is there a way I can make it different this time?
