Introducing dogs and ferrets?

Planning on adopting another lucher male 6 months old and ferret or 2 also.

So, i cant decide when i should get a ferret,
What i think is sort of catch 22 is, the longer i leave getting the ferret, the longer i have to bond the pup first, but i don't want to leave it too long so as i imagine the younger they meet, the less chance of serious problems.

anyone had experience introducing ferrets and dogs?

I have an irish red setter too, and while im fairly sure he will accept the ferret/s, if he doesn't, he doesn't need to work with them, but it would be good as he will scent where the rabbits are under the ground and even set them though he cant see them

I had a dog, and got a ferret, kept the ferret in a cage to keep them apart for a little while, they constanly tried to get to each other the whole time. Once I introduced them to each other though, they just sniffed each other, once they actually met there were never any problems.
