Introducing cats, bad idea or good?

Okay well I have a girl cat named Nikita and a boy cat named Tiger, she's a year old and he's about 5 months old. I have had him for a month and some weeks, She absolutely HATES him. But I've gotten tired of having her stuck in my room for a month straight so I've decided to open up the door... Thing is, the reason why I didn't introduce them face to face before was because I was scared she would try to eat him or something, he's her size now but I guess a skinnier version??? Or her fur could be getting in the way, shes a long haired cat and he's short haired cat, I've had her since she was about 3-4wks old she was a stray I took her in and I got him from a friend... BAD IDEA OR NOT?

the cats will fight but they will get used to each other treat them the same and until they get used to each other keep food separated.

Spoken by a person with seven cats, two just came last week. After the first few days they grow accustom to each other, if they still don't like each other they won't bother each other. Just treat them all the same so they have no reason to not like each other. They hiss at first then they swat with closed paws then after awhile they start playing
