introducing another puppy into the house...?

I have a 5 month old male boxer puppy. He is really friendly and loves other dogs, my parents have a boxer x american staffy puppy and they love playing together.
I am considering getting another dog, I want my puppy to have a friend to play, hes a very energetic dog and loves playing in the garden, would be good for him to have a friend to keep him company.
I want to get another boxer and I want another male. Would another puppy be a good idea or would a slightly older dog be a better option?

maybe wait till your puppy is a little older, but yeah i think that its a god idea, i had 1 dog and only just got a border collie puppy and they get on fine

If you have the time, room, energy and cash to care for two puppies, then another puppy would be great for your little one.
As far as the dog you choose is not over 5 years old then you should have no problems. When you get dogs as old as 7+ years it could be an issue with the young pup bothering him. You can find some great dogs at shelters who need loving homes, so that is a more cost effective way to go. rescue groups can save some cash due to the fact that most of their dogs come fixed and up to date on shots. If you can afford to get both puppies fixed at the same time and also have the time to deal with the puppy stages x 2, then get yourself another pup!!!

It would be a lot easier if the puppy were a little older. Remember that a puppy is a lot of work and need a great deal of attention. Getting one around 9-10 months old may be a better option then a very young puppy.
