Ok i have owned cats all my life, i have had about 8 and each one of them are so special to me. At the moment i have 3 cats:
- Flossy (female), she is the oldest at about 16 years, she's a Torby, quite, shes a rescue cat, a bit death and blind, usualy only meows when she says 'hello'. We have had her for about 5-6 years and when we first got her she was scared of humans now she is a lovely and bright girl who spends most her day curled up on a blanket
-Peter (male), he's a black and white short aired domestic cat, hes about 14 years old, rescue cat, has all ways been a very happy and love seeking boy, likes a good hug, is very friendly around all cats and can be very curious, has never tried to bit me, never hisses at me just a big purrer
-Terry (boy), he's an angora odd eyed turkish cat, he's white with obviously a green and blue eye, 10 months old, very playful and often has play fights with Peter (if he likes it or not), can be very rough and is the alpha in our household, very talkative, full of energy and sleeps in my bedroom every night (he's such a good boy)
I love all of my cats so much and i dont want any of them to feel uncomfortable. But there is a cat called Mini (quite tubby) which someone in our family owned bu has past away. She is currently at a rescue centre untill someone could sort somthing out. She's not very good with other cats as she has spent her whole life without any other 'cats' company. We were going to pay for her food until someone adopts her but shes not eating a lot (this is understandable as her owner passed away). So we have decided to look keep her, but if she doesnt settle in we have to take her back to the rescue centre and we will carry on paying until she is adopted. Now here is where the problem begins...
I need to make a plan of how i'm going to settle her in and make sure she is happy so we can keep her, i dont want her to be stressed. Here are my plans so far, please help me make a good plan for helping her please.
- Keep her seperated from the cats, not aloud outside and has to stay in one room (week 1)
- After this week i will introduce Peter as he is the most friendliest (week 2)
- Introduce her to Flossy (week 2-3)
- Introduce her to Terry (week 3-4)
- Let her stay out with the other cats (week 5-6)
Im hoping that that i can finish all this in a shorter time period, she needs to get used to me first and my mum and step dad, she can investigate the house after possibly week 1 but not in the kitchen (where the cat flap is) and she needs to go back to the room after. It is important that she settles in completely before we let her out, otherwise she'll run away (i know this can happen). Terry is qute rough so i dont want to introduce him to quite later on, i need to get her to eat a bit more as well.
Please help me create a plan from this? thankyou
p.s. Mini is a black and white cat (a cow spotted cat) and shes 15 years old, super cute
