Introducing a kitten to another cat?

I recently got a little kitten... shes about 9-10 weeks old and a bundle of energy! we have already got a female cat who is about 3-4 years old and she hates her. she hisses and growls at her and really want to know how to get them to like each other and tolerate each other! ive rubbed a towel on each cat and put it in the others bed
ive put the kitten in a seperate room
i put the kitten in her kitty cage while i let the other cat near her
but the older cat just growls and has a tantrum! i really love them both and dont want any of them to ever be upset! how can i fix these... please help!?!?!

First off, don't rush it. They each need time to get to know each other. This can sometimes take months for cats to get used to each other. Female cats are especially picky about new friends, especially kittens. Humans tend to think a female would be more interested in kittens because of mothering instincts but that's not always true. When a mother cat has babies, she raises them until they are old enough to care for themselves then she later becomes aggressive towards them to keep them independent. She also doesn't want them to try to keep nursing on her.
Your adult female doesn't actually hate the kitten. She is letting the kitten know that SHE is the boss. Instead of keeping the kitten in a separate room, keep the kitten in a room (in it's cage with litter box, food and water) that the female spends most of her time in. Give the adult cat a place to sit, high enough that the kitten can't climb up to her when the kitten is out so the female has a place to not only escape to but also to sit and watch the kitten. Then wait...this will take time as I said. Sometimes months...don't scold, yell or get mad at either of them and never, ever leave the 2 of them alone together with the kitten outside it's cage until you are absolutely sure they are getting along.

This may sound cruel, but works:

Put water and food in the separate room, put cats in room together and close door.

Cats will realise they are trapped, and will form a bond in an attempt to get free.

After some time (maybe a hour) you should see cats have befriended each other.

Make sure you monitor them, any noises that suggest fighting, open door and remove kitten first.

Well my kitten is now 2 years old and i have a older cat who's 16 years old and she didn't grow up around the younger cat and that's just how cats are, Your older cat probably needs to get used to your younger cat, Just let them Adapt on their own. Don't force them to get along it will take time but in the end they will become friends, Hope I helped! Good luck!!
