Introduced 2yr cat to new kitten & moved, cat won't eat or go "potty". Why?

My boyfriend and I just got a kitten and moved to a new apartment with her and our two year old cat last night. She was fine. He was up all night meowing and hasn't eaten or used his litter box at all since we left the old house. We've kept him and the kitten separated, because he hisses and growls at her. I did switch litter from non-clumping to a scented clumping litter, could this be why he's not urinating or defacating? Why isn't he eating or drinking and how can I get him to??? Please help!!

change is hard on animals.

1. switch back to old litter. after being in your new place for awhile, then introduce new litter.

2. keep separate spaces, litter boxes, food bowls.

3. let them interact supervised with many rewards

4. cuddle cuddle cuddle

too many changes right now to expect normal behavior. just try to ease transition as best you can.

My 8 year old cat did this too me when I moved. She sat by the door for a couple of days just meowing. Eventually she did come around to eat food and stop meowing. Its probably just stress related from moving, changing litter and introducing a new cat. I would at least change the litter back to the old stuff so he has some comfort. I'm not sure how long ago you moved though...
