So I'm getting a macbook soon. And all I have is a modem for the internet which is plugged into my desktop. So I want a router for wireless internet. I have internet with AT&T.

1) Do I need to call and get a router from them? If so, whats the change in price? Can I keep my modem? Or exchange it?

2) Or can I just get one from the store?

3)If I get a router will it work for my desktop as well or do I need the modem for it?
