I'm newbie to contact lenses I have a problem?

My contact lens power is -1 and -2.my -1 lens is very thin than the other lens and it is difficult to wear and I feel some uncomfortable after wearing.But -2 lens is thicker than it and there is no problem.I want to know wheather it is usual that contacts have differant thickness for differant power or it is a manufacturing defect.please answer and if you have any tips for a newbie please give it to me.

best advice, make sure hands are competely clean and lint free. Put them in after shower and before make up (that is if your female). Make sure to soak them in solution. I give it an extra squirt of solution right before I put it in. (Note: make sure you don't squirt disinfecting solution...it is different the rinsing solution...will burn bad). Make sure eye is open as wide as possible. Finally don't be afraid to touch your eye. As soon as you feel it touch, then kinda slide it into the center of the eyeball. If you fail the first time, take it out rinse and try again. You get it eventually. Oh yeah make sure contact forms a nice round bowl shape. If it doesn't, it may be flipped to the wrong side.
