to introduce reform? I cringe to hear conservative loonies saying, "Oh, yes, suddenly we're very compassionate; we understand that people shouldn't be refused health plans for pre-existing conditions. We understand the system is messed up."

Really? 'Cause barely a single conservative was very interested in initiating reform to begin with. They like to pretend like they know and care about your problems, but when it boils down, they'd prefer to not change things at all. They'd rather leave it become an entrenched disaster in the years to come rather than upset their friends the corporations by proposing new regulations.
Sure, I think I will go watch Fox News so I can be well-informed. I think I'll start with _Huckabee_, where his celebrity and musical guests will inform me with their expert opinions on important issues. LOL.

The “Empowering Patients First Act†(H.R 3400) was introduced by Representative Tom Price (R-GA) and 27 co-sponsors on July 30, 2009 prior to the congressional recess. It was then referred to eight House committees.



The head hijacker is Speaker Nancy Pelosi. As Congressman Price pointed out during a radio interview with me last week, the rules in the House assert that bills will remain in committees “for a period to be subsequently determined by the Speaker.†Thank you Nancy!



The highly contentious 1,000-plus-page Democratic health care proposal cleared the committees in a few days. The 63-page Republican alternative is stuck in committees and it can’t get out. Unlike Democrat-care, the Republican alternative would not impose fines on workers or employers, require cuts in Medicare, increase taxes, require a new government bureaucracy, require a “government health insurance†option nor add $1 trillion or more to the national debt.

You've not been listening. What was it Ted Kennedy said before he died'? Oh, yeah, he said he should have supported Nixon in the 70's with health reform, but didn't because, Nixon was a Republican, a conservative, and had run against his brother John. Afterward, he regretted his being so feeble minded and partisan. Guess it all balanced out in the end. There have been attempts of health reform by the Republicans over the years and each time the Democrats shut it down. They (Libs) are the kettle calling the pot (conservatives) black. Nothing could be further from the truth. But I suppose if a liberal says it it must be true. Yeah, they have been lying all through this debate and the liberal sheeple have been at the table eating it all up crap and all.

If you want real and affordable reform, tell Pelosi and Reid to get out of the way of advancing the issue.

They have always wanted some type of reform. In fact, they have some great ideas right now. But everything they want put in this current bill, gets shot down by Pelosi and Reid.
Those Americans who are protesting these new proposals DO NOT WANT the Government taking over health care, or health insurance.
THe Government has the power to regulate the current system, and that would be far better for them to regulate than to overhaul the entire system and insurance industry.

Actual viable reforms have been offered, and ignored by the Dem controlled Congress.


And if you THINK for a minute, approximately 85% of Americans are more than satisfied with their health care. What exactly do we need to change? Why would we want to fix something that we don't think is broken?

How about this option that has been rejected by the Dem controlled Congress: Make every insurance provider available to every American. We have about 1300 insurnce providers in this country, how many do you have access to? You should be able to access all of them, but you can't.

We have. But the basic thing we need to change is the tort laws. The Dems ( who are support by trial lawyers) block it on every turn.

I have one customer who is an internist MD. He owns his own clinic and has 6 doctors working for him. His malpractice insurance has now exceeded $14,000 per month and he has never been sued. Who do you thing is paying for this premium?

** Republicans blocked SCHIP because it covered mostly the children of illegals. Most all states have health insurance programs for children. There was NO need for SCHIP.
