How would i go about introducing a chihuahua to my pitbull?

So my pitbull is about 6 months old and isn't dog aggresive but has only been around larger dogs. I have always wanted a Chihuahua but i don't know how i would go about having both in my house. The Chihuahua is a puppy and i'm going to get the opposite gender. so i just want to know what would be good steps to go about introducing them.

You introduce them OFF of their own property. Somewhere that is a "neutral area", so no one feels like they have to defend their own turf.

Introduce both dogs on leash, so you have complete control over both dogs. Maybe just walk both together... one on each side with you in the middle.... before they are actually formally introduced where they smell each other.

Do you know how to read dog body language? Watch for anything unusual. If something feels off, separate the dogs and start over later.

Bring it into your house but hold the chihuahua for the first little bit and make sure that your pitbull does not play to hard with it. I have a 9 month old Chihuahua and two german shepherds and I was really worried too, But they are all best friends The shepherds even acted like they are her Mother;s

well i wuld hold the chih. and kinda lean him down by the pit a little to let them smell and stuff and see how they react. I wuldnt suggest letting them be on the ground together and stuff cuz if the pit did attack it wuldnt b a long fight but the pit is pretty young and might take well the the small dog and this wuld b good as it gets older its good around small dogs. Just do wat i said or maybe put them in separate kennels if u have them but pit the part with holes next to each other or something. Just something like that. Or u culd work ur way down like if ur friend has a big dog let him play with him for a day. The next a smaller dog. Next smaller and just kinda get the chih. Oh and one more thing! Very important!!! When they first meet it wuld probably be better if did a like a close by park or something, not at ur house. Cuz the pit might get territorial and attack him cuz he was there first. If ur at the park he doesnt need any guard up cuz he doesnt own the park.

Edit: Oh and wen they meet be sure to look for signs. Like if they sniff and one waggs there tail thats a good sign. And just cuz one doesnt doesnt mean its bad. Just watch them and u can tell by there eyes and body if they are going to attack.

The way I've introduced dogs of large size difference in the past(German Shepherd and Beagle) was to get on neutral ground which neither have been to with both on leash, and have two people walk the dogs up to each-other so they can do some sniffing. If one of the dogs isn't friendly correct them and walk away for a few minutes then try again.

Keep in mind that a ton of Chihuahua's are aggressive little bastards, so make sure to get it all the socialization you possibly can. Once they're in the same pack its safe from the pit, but if the chihuahua were to attack another dog the pit-bull might defend it, and then you've got a real problem on your hands.

Seriously??? The best way to introduce dogs is through a walk..NEVER hold another dog while introducing to your dog, think about that. Your dog sees you holding another dog,gets jealouse then you hand the poor thing over??? my god you are stupid, watch cesar millan just ONCE before opening your mouth...DOGS WAG THEIR TAIL BEFORE AN ATTACK TOO!!! The only sense your statment made was to take them to a park,but my god do not hold the chihuahua.
