How to introduce your boyfriend to your parents(him being 5years older than you)?

My boyfriend (to be) is 5 years older than me. I am in school and he has been out for 3 years. I really do like him a lot and i want to be with him, yet my parents are very overprotective and i doubt they will let me be with him. Considering it is close to Christmas, i would like him to come to our family Christmas dinner so he can meet them and we could all get on. Is this the best idea? Should I do something else? Because i really would like to be with this guy and i don't want my parents interfering. Yes he is older but there is nothing of him that needs to be hidden. Yet parents often freak out simply because of the age difference and don't even want to get to know the person! How do I make this work and what should i do?

It depends first on how old you are. If you are 15 and he is 20 then it is very likely that your parents will become upset at the idea of you both in a relationship. On top of that I think it's illegal, your a minor he's an adult. If you are 23 and he is 27 then it really is not a big deal, you're both adults. It's hard to really know how to answer this question not knowing the ages involved.
