How to introduce puppy to cats?

I have two cats, one is about 5 years old and the other is 1. It took about a week for Felix (the older one) to get used to Daphne when she was a kitten, but now they sleep in the same bed etc.

Yesterday I bought a Cocker Spaniel, he's 13 months and very excitable. Daphne has started to venture over to him and is very inquisative but when the puppy comes closer to her she hisses and runs away. Felix won't go anywhere near the puppy, he's terrified.

How can I get them to be introduced together? I was going to try putting the puppy in a cage and let the cats come up to the edge, but I don't fancy spending £30 on a cage after spending £400 on my puppy.

Hold the puppy and call u cats over, pet them & they will see u have the puppy there and get close to it.

I have had a lot of pets and just like people they just need to learn to warm up to each other. I have had some pets were it took and hour and some where it took months. Let them do it on their own terms at their pace.
