I'm getting a new Persian/Ragdoll mix kitten tomorrow, and I want to know the best way to introduce her to my female Chihuahua.

I've had the Chihuahua for about 5 years or so, and she has seemed to get along okay with a couple other cats in the neighborhood. I just don't want any fights breaking out and clawing going on, is there any way to prevent this when I bring the cat home?
