How to introduce my new kitten to my older cat?

I am going to be adopting a new kitten on friday and she is 4 weeks old. There is already a older kitten in my house, so I am afraid that our resident cat will hurt our new kitten. The cat we have now is a 12 year old female.

Is there a proper way to introduce them?
We didn't take it away from its mother. We found her outside our house walking around. We took it to the vet and she says it is 4-6 weeks old.

Usually older cats won't hurt kittens. Same thing with dogs. I've had my kittens since they were 6 weeks and they just turned 11. I just let them roam free in the house with my dog and my older cat, and they never bothered each other, other than the kittens and dog playing. I've always had good experience with my older animals being loving and sweet to my younger ones.
They shouldn't bother each other, if the older cat picks on the kitten then lock the older cat in a room for a little while. That way it throws the dominance ladder off.

Waiting until the kitten is 10 weeks old to adopt it is where you should start. There is no reason to be taking a 4 week old away from its mother.
