How to introduce a westie and rottie?

Can anyone tell me the best way to introduce a westie and a rottie? The westie (he was very well socialised as a pup) is 1 and quite a laid back dog for a westie. He is good temperament and loves to say hello to any size dog when we walk. The rottie is also 1 and laid back but has shown signs of being afraid of a little dogs. Many thanks.

Definitely the best way is to take them on a walk together before bringing them back indoors at the same time.

If the rottie is a bit afraid of little dogs then do not leave them unsupervised until you are sure all is well. What you would be looking for is if the westie pestered the rottie so much that the rottie didn't feel he could escape anywhere.

Lots of us keep rotties with small dogs and they will be totally fine once used to each other. Expect the westie to be the boss.

I have some lovely pics of a friends westie that I used to board. She was one of the actual cesar westies but you should of seen her once she'd been here... lol.. she loved playing with my rotts and she'd lead them a merry dance for sure.

The best way to introduce them is on a walk them together keeping them both on leads .

I've got a rottie so when other dogs are intorduced to her we do it gradually such as walking on opposite sides of the road. Eventually they will walk together then play together.
