Hi. My dad recently adopted a grey tabby cat named Brutus. He is 1-2 years old. My dog is a Yellow Lab who is 5 years old but still acts like he is a puppy. His name is Rambo. We brought Brutus to our house (it is a log cabin with plenty of trees and the like so that he can get away if need be) and they seemed to get along fine. Rambo is now less tolerant of Brutus and is chasing him up trees and barking at him. This is only after three days. I'm thinking of re-introducing them to each other by showing them through the screen door and slowly having them co-exist. I want them to be good friends and not just tolerating each other and certainly not dislike each other. We got the cat for Rambo's benefit because he gets lonely when we are all gone at work or a when i am at my mother's house. Of course Rambo comes first and Brutus's best interest must be involved as well but i want to give this a shot first before i give up. Any advise or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
