How to introduce a bunny to an existing rabbit?

My rabbit is really lonely, and I want to get her a friend. I will be getting a baby bunny and want to know the best way to introduce them. My bunny has a space where she lives, not a cage, so I didn't know if I should put the new bunny into a cage, and then put it into my rabbits place, so she can get use to seeing it? I plan on moving them both into a bigger space after a while, but don't want to do that until they have bonded. My rabbit is less than a year old(female). Also since my new bunny is going to be small, should I even let my rabbit play with her, or will it be dangerous? Any suggestions would help a lot, thank you!
My rabbit is very playful, I have a small dog (smaller than her). They will chase each other around, not in a vicious way! They just like to play.
