I have 2 German Shepherds, male and female, intact. The new housemate owns a Victorian Bulldog male who is neutered. So far he's met my female and we've walked them together. However my female plays rough; she nips and wrestles and the owner of the Bulldog took this as her being "aggressive" when she isn't. She's very submissive once the other dog puts her in her place. However the owner won't let the Bulldog anywhere near the female while in the house so this can happen. It's causing stress on all three dogs because they can hear and smell other animals but can't see or touch.
The two males have gone nose-to-nose by complete accident. They sniffed each other and were totally fine.
HOWEVER...
the male GSD is leash reactive. So I suggested either introducing the Bulldog and him in the house, or at the dog park. However the owner of the Bulldog won't let her dog off leash anywhere, even in the dog park, because he's easily distracted and will not return when called if something catches his eye. Male GSD can't be on leash when they meet because he will go INSANE. She doesn't seem to believe me. Anyway they were fine when they went nose-to-nose, not even a growl, tails wagging, but the owner freaked and still won't let them anywhere near each other.
Basically Bulldog's owner is freaking and not letting her dog near my dogs. My dogs, of course, get locked up while her's roams the house.. it's not fair to my dogs and it has to end before this weekend. How can I explain this to her, politely, and encourage her to let the dogs work things out? Neither of my dogs are aggressive. The female has NEVER been aggressive to ANYONE EVER. The male is only aggressive to other dogs when on leash because he is leash reactive.
