How do I introduce my new guinea pig to my old ones?

I have two guinea pigs right now, and later today i'm going to be getting a new baby guinea pig. I want them all to get along!! How do i introduce them properly so that they get along?

Buy some hardware cloth (1/2x1/2x36 is usually avg $1.25ft) and simply put a barrier in the cage. This will be helpful for exposure and can stay this way for however long is needed.

just put them together there will be some fighting and stuff to get the dominance thing worked out but they r very social animals and once they figure out who is dominate they will get along just fine

Before you put the new pig with the old pigs you need to quarantine him/her for at least 2 weeks.

Please adopt. You can look on petfinder.com and at shelters and rescues.

I recently did this with mine and it worked out very nicely. You need to introduce them in a neutral area like outside of the cage so your current guinea pigs don't get territorial. Since you're getting a baby everything should be fine anyway because normally male guinea pigs won't fight with younger male babies and they definitely won't fight with a female baby. But girl guinea pigs are very nurturing and would take the baby in.

Hopefully everything works out! When you introduce them outside of the cage if they get along you can go ahead and put them back in the cage together!

ive just done this with mine a month ago. What you don't want to do is plop the new guinea pig into your existing guinea pig's cage. Never try to introduce guinea pigs in one of their cages. Be prepared. This may happen in one afternoon or it may take months!

Get a large bath towel or two.

Put the towels on the couch (neutral, unfamiliar territory).
Spread them out over the middle of the couch.

Each person holding a pig, sits at opposite ends of the couch.
Make sure the towels are between you and there is a good amount of space (it helps to have a big couch!). Floor works, too. Keep kids quiet and out of reach. No other distractions.

Let the pigs find each other on their own time.
You may need to nudge them in the right direction. Have another towel handy to toss on the pigs if you need to separate them.
