How do I introduce Ghost Shrimp into my Betta's tank that has aquarium salt in it?

I have a 2.5 gallon tank with a Betta in it and I had some little Ghosties in there but I started adding aquarium salt (as suggested by my LFS) and they started dying off. I'm assuming it's because I was adding the salt too quickly and the Ghosties couldn't adapt quickly enough. I have read that Ghost Shrimp can handle small amounts of aquarium salt which is why I thought nothing of it for adding it in. If they truly can handle it, how do I add them to my tank again with the aquarium salt already present? Do I need to completely remove the salt, add the shrimp, then SLOWLY add the salt again?

Why are you putting salt in your Betta's tank? If your Betta is healthy quit adding salt and slowly go back to having no salt in the water through water changes. If he's healthy he doesn't need it. Aquarium salt is for short term use for making tonics to help with fin rot, ich, and other sicknesses like that. What it's not used for is healthy fish. If your fish is sick then simply wait until he's better ween him off the salt and then add ghost shrimp back to the tank. And I would REALLY suggest upgrading to a 5 gallon tank. You'll find it much easier to handle and your fish will be MUCH happier.

Betta's should have a 5 gallon filtered and heated to 80*F,
A filter will be to strong in anything less than a 5 gallon and a heater will over heat anything under a 5 gallon to. I would not add any salt. They are not brackish water fish and really should not have salt in there water unless they have ich or some other disease that can be treated with salt. You can upgrade to a 5 gallon, which is the minimum for a Betta, and get some ghost shrimp after you cycle the 5 gallon with no salt. Only add aquarium salt to the betta tank if needed for now, for example ,during a water change. Ghost shrimp are sensitive to many things, and die off quickly without proper feeding and filtration.
