My mom had knee surgery mnday and she has an elderly woman for a roommate. I have spent hours in my moms room keeping her company and wha not. However the elderly woman had only two visites and they stayed only a little while. I did want I could to help keep her company and to get the nurce when she needed one but her situation got me thinking. As the population of the U.S and threw the use of monderin medicine we as a country are getting older and living longer! Unfortunently as that happens more and more people are going to experince what that elderly woman did. When I worked as a HHA and a CNA I saw it all the time.So this is my plan....... HOME HEALTH MASSAGE1. Offer in home massage to the elderly population that already uses HHA type service. Take this service into nursing homes as well.2. Provide this service to only medicaly stable clients or those who hae doctor approval.3. Offer the massage in shorter sessions and for a cheeper price (somthing that can fit into their budget since most of them are on a fixed income)4. Start a small stretching "exercise" program designed to be gentel and easy to do yet help keep them moving to the best of their ability. What I havnt figured out yet is how to bill. Rather to try to bill the client/family or to bill insurance companies.I was wondering if anyone else has ever done this kind of thing and if it worked for them and how they did the billing.
