Health insurance newbie?

Ok so I am completely new to the whole health insurance thing and have no idea what to look for and what to watch out for. If anyone could help that would be wonderful! I'm looking for a policy for my fiance. One that will cover him now and then cover me when we get married. Neither of us smoke and he works full time and I go to school full time and work part time. We're both healthy and active. Any help or hints would be greatly, greatly appreciated!!!!

You do not "need to contact a local broker". You may, if you wish, but it is completely optional. It does not cost any extra money, but it also does not cost any less, and it may take extra time. It does not cost any extra not to use a broker. Although they "can" take the time to explain the different plans, and how everything works, not all of them will. Some of them will lie to you, and tell you that you have to do something that works best for the broker, but is not really best for you. For example, they can lie by saying that you have to buy from them, and will not tell you that buying online is also an option (not always the best option, but always an option, and it "doesn't cost anything extra".

The most important thing to watch for is a broker who says that you "need" to use a broker, because that means that you cannot trust anything that broker says.

Clearly, "do it yourself" health insurance isn't going to be a good idea for you.

You need to contact a local broker, who can sit down with you and let you know what the options are IN YOUR STATE. It doesn't cost anything extra, and they can take the time to explain the different plans, and how everything works, IN YOUR STATE.
