he didn't introduce me to his friend, bad sign?

I met a man online a few weeks ago. We went out on a date that went pretty good i thought. The next day he asked me over to his house, at first he said something about a cook out or something, he asked through a text, anyway i went. it was just me and him there but he had told me a bit ahead that it would be. I felt like the conversation went good, he shared some kind of personal stuff with me and to me seemed genuine. We moved to to the couch to watch a movie, he got a little handsy but then all of a sudden while we were sitting there holding hands the front door opened up and in walks this man. He seemed obviously surprised to find me there and seemed kind of embarrassed. He was kind of a rough looking guy i might add but he rambled on a minute and this guy i am seeing just sat there and talked to him a bit and finally the guy left. it was all pretty awkward. i asked who that was and he said a good friend, but then kind of added not so good that he should come in without knocking. I wanted to ask him why he didn't introduce me but i didn't want to put him on the spot. He wanted me to stay the night that night which i did not do. We have continued to text each other the last couple of weeks and hes pretty nice but sometimes seems pouty when i say i can''t stay the night yet. It kind of keeps bugging me how he didn't introduce me, it makes me wonder if he is just playing with me, even though he says he wants us to just see each other and wants a relationship. wouldn't a guy that was more serious about a girl at least have introduce me or am i just being paranoid?? would really appreciate any advice,
