Hands free massage

Hi Everyone,
I have just come back from an amazing weekend learning hands free massage with Darien Pritchard!! It has totally changed my way of thinking and working and as my wrists are getting bad it has come at the right time.
Anyway just to say i feel really inspired and can't wait to put it all into practice!!

Hi Latifa,
I did this training in Newport with a company called teach therapy, google them and you will find them! Was a great course , i learnt so much. I think the course i did is also offered in Bristol and London, will find out.

Wow - that is great to hear Lisa! I'm so pleased you have found something that can really re-energise you and get you back into the massage. Darien is one of the three schools of injury reducing / free massage that I am aware of in the UK, well-done on taking active steps to a long happy practice!

I do have such a new energy for massage, its amazing. I wasn't sure how many other schools there were but i think it is such an important step to take, to protect your body!!

Hi Latifa,
Just to let you know - in case London is closer to you than Newport -Inspire Massage Workshops who are based in London run a Hands Free Massage Course and I know Darien Pritchard, mentioned in previous posts,runs various coursesthrough them. I am booked on an advanced massage course called 'Freeing The Shoulders' which is tutored by Darien himselfstarting tomorrow! I'm really looking forward to it as it looks like we're going to be doing some really good deep tissue stuff which I am sure my clients are going to love! Who doesn't have tight shoulders eh?!
Anyway, I haven't done the Hands Free Course with Inspire yet, but when I did my ITEC Holistic Massage training with them (which was FAB!), they showed us quite a few hands free moves as they are really big on teaching you good posture and a healthy way of working from the start, so that when you start doing lots of treatments every day, you won't end up with complications like RSI.The hands free moves are great-and I find whenI'm usingmy armsinstead of my thumb tips it's much less strenuous to give a deep pressure treatment.
Anyway if you want the contact details for Inspire, just ask - although i'm pretty sure their website is easy to find if you google it.

I did a Hands free massage course in April and yes, I agree, its truly transformational.
I had enrolled on it last Nov but it was postponed, and the main reason for booking on was that my hands, joints, etc had become really 'clicky' and starting to hurt. I took a few weeks off from massage and reflexology, took large doses of ibuprofen, collagen and glusomine and then started doing the hands-free.

I'm pleased to say that I feel that I'm back to normal and feel that I have hopefully nipped the problem in the bud.

I have asked if their will be an advanced course as I would love to do more techniques.
