I am planning my first 4 hand massage session, and would like to know how to handle the tip. It would seem that the answer depends on the fee arrangement at the specific salon.
For example, some of the girls at Maison Massage have an all-inclusive fixed fee for a 4 hand massage. In this case, the answer is simple. One simply pays the fee to the girl with whom you make the appointment.
In the case of a place like Adagio, there is a 4 hands hourly rate paid to the receptionist, In addition Adagio offers the standard $20-40-60-80 option structure, the $80 being for a Thai massage. Thus, in the case of a 4 hands, once inside the room, one of the girls would presumably quote a 4 hands rate structure and you would pay that girl for the option you choose.
However, in the case of a place like 2214 it is more complicated, since the amount of the tip, based on the level of service provided, is left to the discretion of the client, and is never discussed. How does one calculate and handle the tip in this case? Should one simply tip twice what one would normally tip for the same level of service in an individual massage session? How do you decide which girl to give the tip to? Do you tip each girl individually? What if one girl offers a different level of service than the other during the session? Do you tip differentially?
In order to avoid any awkwardness at the end of my first 4 hands session, I would prefer to know how to handle this issue prior to the session. I would appreciate it if someone could PM me this info.
Thanks.
