GUITARISTS, any advice for a newbie?

My dad got a guitar just for putting on the wall and I found it interesting so I decided to play around with it. I know how to play violin and piano a little too.
So anyway, the guitar is a Washburn wi-64.
I never played guitar so I am a newbie. The first day I found out which string is which (E A D G B E, right?) and I was determined to figured out how to play happy birthday on the d string by ear, haha
Is there any website or something I should do next to familiarize myself with the guitar? Like something that tells me what notes are where for starters. It's just for fun, I don't plan on being in a band or anything, I just like music.

Any other advice would be greatly appreciated, thank you!
The first day (yesterday) I didnt use a pick and got a huge blister on my thumb. I don't mind, but I got 5 picks if different thickness because I wasnt sure what the thickness meant.
I'm 19, right handed, and a girl if that changes anything like how I hold it or something

It would be really helpful if you could find a teacher, or just a friend who plays to help you along

Learn a few basic chords first (E A G C D) as there are like thousands of songs you can learn to play from them.

Remember never to give up, it's hard and tough at times but you'll definitely enjoy it!

Youtube has great tips for beginners too.

If you can't read music use TAB for now, Ultimateguitar.com has thouands of songs.

I would look up tabs you wanna learn, go to 911tabs, they have every link to the tab fer yer choice of song.

Go on youtube and type in learn basic guitar chords when you know your chords you can learn songs if your guitar is out of tune you can use a piano to tune it for example a low E would be the sound of your thick E string of your guitar and you could also google online guitar tuner or just take it to a music shop and its normal if a string breaks practice heaps to gain skills and new techniqes i've been playing for 6 years

Practice until those fingers get tough. Learn to read music and tabs for sure as playing by ear limits you. There are many good sites that show notes and chords and since you already read music things will be easier for you. E A D G B E is right and knowing the musical alphabet and keyes on the piano you shouldn't have any problem.

ur sex has nothing to do with being a musician u know that. since u know how too play piano u probably no your chords so start learning them on the guitar. u can google basic chord learn thoughs then go on to seventh chords 9th minors majors, major7ths so on. everychord is a shape so if u remember the and all shapes are moveable if u retain the shape. u can also google your scales learn some of those. if u play by ear im sure u can pick them out. to familiarize your self learn a song u like learn a couple songs! chord progressions are really important heres a good site
